Sometimes it can feel like the world is against you, and that no one understands how you’re feeling. That’s why it’s important to remember that sometimes all we need is a little time alone to let our emotions out. It’s okay to take some time for yourself and allow your tears to flow; this can be incredibly cathartic and help us process our feelings in a healthy way.
It doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with us or that we’re weak – quite the opposite! Taking care of ourselves by allowing ourselves space, both physically as well as emotionally, shows strength of character. We are showing respect for ourselves when we choose self-care over forcing an emotionless facade on those around us who may not understand what we’re going through anyway.
So if ever you find yourself needing just a few moments away from everything else, don’t hesitate – give yourself permission to take some much needed ‘me’ time!
